The Guiding Principles

LUG Manipal is governed by these principles, the members are requested to abide by these rules

1) LUG Manipal shall not collect any kind of money from its members as membership charges/fees. The group shall always be free of charge.

2) No money shall be collected from people who come for attending workshops conducted by LUG. The workshops have to be free of charge. People may be asked to make their own arrangement of resources like disks etc for the events if such situation arises.

3) We don't necessarily provide certificated for workshops we organize. It can be provided if we have any funds from sponsors. We believe that knowledge rules and its more important than certificates.

4) Since LUG Manipal is not funded by the college in any way unlike other organizations in MIT Manipal, we may or may not be able to provide materialistic prizes, resources like disks unless sponsored for that event. We don't have a big bank balance, its a non-profit organization.

5) LUG Manipal members are requested to treat newcomers with care and affection. They should be taught the in-outs of technology with patience, everyone has his/her own speed of grasping knowldge.
